My dad recently passed away, but he left me with something powerful: the understanding that every family gathering is worth celebrating like it's the Super Bowl. He taught me that making people feel loved and included isn't just nice - it's essential.
That's why, after 12+ years photographing coastal New England weddings, I still get emotional at every ceremony. I'm not maintaining professional distance - I'm becoming emotionally invested in your day because that's how I honor the people I work with and how I carry forward what my dad taught me about celebration.

What's it like working with you on the wedding day?
Honestly? I become your wedding day bestie who also happens to have a camera. I'm the one ugly crying during your vows, cracking up at your toasts, and sweet-talking your camera-shy uncle into actually smiling. I've been doing this for 12+ years, so I know how to read a room, chase the perfect light, and gently wrangle your people without anyone feeling awkward or posed. I'll probably pet every dog at your wedding (sorry, can't help myself) and definitely sneak some of your mac and cheese if it's on the menu. By the end of the night, most couples tell me I feel like family - which is exactly what I'm going for.
Do you scout our venue beforehand?
For most weddings, I research your venue thoroughly and arrive early on your wedding day to scout the best locations for your specific light and timeline. If you're getting married somewhere I haven't shot before, or if you want extra peace of mind, we can absolutely arrange a venue visit beforehand. I've shot all over New England for over a decade, so chances are I might know it already!
How involved are you in the planning process?
I'm a resource whenever you need me. Some couples just want me to show up and do my thing, others text me vendor questions at 10pm. Both are totally fine. You'll get a comprehensive planning questionnaire about a month out, but between now and then, I'm here for timeline advice, vendor recommendations, or just to talk through ideas. Think of me as part of your team from the moment you book.
How do you handle family dynamics/difficult situations?
With grace, experience, and a whole lot of emotional intelligence. I've navigated everything from divorced parents who won't be in the same room to last-minute family drama to guests who are camera-shy. I take time to understand your specific family situation beforehand, and on the day, I'm diplomatic, kind, and focused on making everyone feel included and celebrated. My job is to make the photo process as stress-free as possible so you can actually enjoy your people.
Will you help us with our timeline?
Absolutely. I'll send you a detailed timeline template and we'll work through it together based on your specific day. I know what works (and what doesn't) when it comes to lighting, travel time between locations, and building in buffer for the unexpected. You'll get my honest input on realistic timing, and I'll help you create a flow that gives us beautiful images without feeling rushed.
What happens if you're sick or have an emergency?
I have a network of experienced photographers I trust who share my approach and quality standards. In the incredibly unlikely event I can't be there, you'd have someone of equal caliber who I'd personally brief on your day. In 12+ years, I've never missed a wedding, but I always have a backup plan because your peace of mind matters.
